Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility Criteria

Age: Applicants must be between 16 and 18 years old at the time of application. Applicants who do not meet the specified age eligibility requirements for participation CAN and WILL be refused entry to the program. In such cases, NO refund will be issued.

School Approval: Participants must obtain approval from their school to miss one week of school during the program. Participants will receive an official letter from Skillup Group Limited for school authorization after acceptance.

2. Application Process

Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of £200 per team of up to 5 students is required to submit an application. This fee covers administrative costs and will not be refunded for any reason, including disqualification based on age, English proficiency, or failure to meet eligibility criteria.

Application Review: All applicants will be assessed. Only those who meet the criteria will be selected to participate.

3. Program Participation

Program Duration: The program will take place during term time. Participants must attend the full duration of the program and ensure school approval for the time missed.

4. Travel and Accommodation

SkillUp group does not provide any transportation or accommodations at all for attendance of the final event. All travel, accommodation and meal costs must be paid for by the attendee without exception. The only meal that is provided is lunch during the program.

5. Media and Photography

By participating in the CubeSat Challenge, participants consent to media coverage and photography during the event. These materials may be used for promotional purposes by Skillup Group Limited and our partners.

Any media representations must credit both Skillup Group Limited and the event sponsors as official providers.

6. Conduct and Behavior

Participants must adhere to professional and respectful conduct throughout the program. Inappropriate behavior may result in immediate removal from the program without refund.

We reserve the right to remove any participant from the program for failure to comply with the rules and regulations.

7. Program Changes and Cancellations

We reserve the right to modify the program schedule, structure, or location as necessary. Participants will be notified in advance of any significant changes.

In the event of program changes or cancellation, participants will not be entitled to a refund of the application fee.

8. Liability and Safety

Participants are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their belongings during the program. Skillup Group Limited is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage.

Participants should exercise caution and take necessary safety measures during the program.

9. Refund Policy

The £200 application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, including withdrawal, disqualification, or failure to meet eligibility criteria.

10. Program Organizers

The Cubesat Challenge is owned and ran wholly by SkillUp Group Limited.

11. Additional Program Details

Certificates and Completion: Upon successful participation, participants will receive a certificate of completion from the program organizers.

Health and Medical: On-site medical assistance and first-aid support will be available during the program.

Dietary Needs: Participants with specific dietary restrictions must inform the organizers during the application process, and reasonable accommodations will be made where possible.

Guest Speakers: The program will feature guest speakers and industry experts in space exploration and STEM fields.

12. Program Costs

Additional costs not mentioned in sections (3.) & (4.) are the sole responsibility of the participants.

By submitting an application to the Cubesat Challenge, applicants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

13. Meals

Meals (lunch only) and refreshments throughout the day will be provided exclusively for finalists during the final program (Teesside University, October 20-24). No other meals (breakfast/dinner) will be provided.
